How to Get Started with Canva
Create a Canva account
Go to canva.com and sign up with Google, Facebook, or email. The Free plan gives you immediate access to 250,000+ templates, millions of stock assets, and the full editor.
Explore the dashboard
The home page shows recommended templates, recent designs, and search. Use the search bar to find templates by type (Instagram post, resume, flyer) or browse by category.
Create your first design
Click 'Create a design' and choose a type (or enter custom dimensions). Select a template or start with a blank canvas. The editor opens with all tools on the left sidebar.
Download or share your design
Click 'Share' to get a link, or 'Download' to export as PNG, JPG, PDF, SVG, or MP4. Choose quality settings and transparent background if needed.
