How-To Guide

How to Create a Notion Dashboard

Build a custom dashboard in Notion. Linked database views, widgets, and layouts that show everything you need at a glance.

How to Create a Notion Dashboard

1

Create a new dashboard page

Create a new page and give it a clear name: 'Team Dashboard', 'My Dashboard', or 'Project Hub'. Add an icon and cover image for visual identity. This page will aggregate information from across your workspace.

2

Add linked database views

Type /linked and select 'Linked view of database'. Choose an existing database and configure the view: filter to show only relevant entries (e.g., tasks assigned to you, projects due this week), sort by priority, and hide unnecessary properties.

3

Arrange with columns and layout

Drag blocks side-by-side to create columns. A common layout: left column for tasks and calendar, right column for quick links and notes. Use divider blocks and headings to separate sections visually.

4

Add quick-access elements

Include bookmarked pages, template buttons for one-click page creation, callout blocks for announcements or reminders, and embedded content (Google Sheets, Figma files, Loom videos).

5

Set it as your sidebar favorite

Click the star icon to add your dashboard to Favorites in the sidebar. This ensures it's always one click away. On mobile, you can also set it as your default opening page.

Pro tips

  • *

Keep dashboards focused — one dashboard per role or context (personal, team, project) works better than one mega-dashboard

  • *

Use Gallery views for visual dashboards and List views for compact information density

  • *

Toggle blocks are great for hiding detail sections — show summaries by default, expand for full context

  • *

Update your dashboard layout quarterly as priorities and workflows evolve
