How to Collaborate with Your Team in Canva

Set up team collaboration in Canva. Shared folders, real-time editing, comments, and approval workflows for design teams.

How to Collaborate with Your Team in Canva

1

Create a Canva Teams workspace

Go to Settings → Billing and upgrade to Canva Teams ($10/person/month for 5+ people). Invite team members by email — they get access to shared brand assets and folders.

2

Organize with shared folders

Create folders for different projects, clients, or content types. Drag designs into folders and set folder permissions (view, edit, or full access) for different team members.

3

Co-edit in real time

Share a design with 'Can edit' permissions. Multiple people can work on the same design simultaneously — you'll see colored cursors showing who's editing where, just like Google Docs.

4

Review and approve

Use comments to leave feedback on specific design elements. On Teams plans, set up approval workflows — designs route through designated approvers before they can be published or downloaded.

Pro tips

  • *

Use 'Template' sharing to let team members create copies from approved designs without modifying the original

  • *

Set up a 'Ready for review' folder where team members drop designs for approval

  • *

Lock specific brand elements in templates so team members can only edit designated content areas
