How to Connect Your E-commerce Store to Mailchimp

Integrate Shopify, WooCommerce, or BigCommerce with Mailchimp. Product sync, purchase tracking, and automated e-commerce emails.

How to Connect Your E-commerce Store to Mailchimp

1

Choose your integration

Go to Integrations and find your e-commerce platform: Shopify, WooCommerce, BigCommerce, Magento, or others. Click 'Connect' and follow the platform-specific authorization flow.

2

Sync your store data

After connecting, Mailchimp syncs your product catalog, customer list, and purchase history. This process can take a few minutes for large stores. Verify the sync in Audience → E-commerce dashboard.

3

Enable e-commerce automations

Go to Automations and enable key e-commerce workflows: abandoned cart recovery, order confirmation, shipping notification, post-purchase follow-up, and product review requests.

4

Set up product recommendation blocks

In your email templates, add 'Product' content blocks that automatically show personalized product recommendations based on each customer's purchase history and browsing behavior.

Pro tips

  • *

Enable abandoned cart automation first — it typically recovers 5-10% of abandoned carts with minimal setup

  • *

Use purchase data for segmentation: 'Bought product X but not product Y' segments are powerful for cross-sells

  • *

Check the e-commerce dashboard regularly for revenue attribution — it shows exactly how much revenue each email drives
